4 Simple Steps to Less Stressful Holidays

This week’s podcast is all about how to decrease stress and increase meaning during the holidays! It is super short (6 minutes) because I don’t want to add to anyone’s stress! I’ve listed the tips below. The podcast just gives more details and personal stories about how and why I changed the way I do the holidays. I promise you will enjoy the holidays more if you follow these four simple steps.

  1. Question Your Traditions! – Make a list of the traditions that bring you joy, and a list of the shit that stress you out.
  2. Do Away With The Traditions That Don’t Fill You Up! – Without feeling like a failure and without judging yourself, be willing to give up traditions that cause too much stress.
  3. Add Meaning— Don’t just continue a ritual for ritual’s sake.
  4. For Those Traditions You Keep—Go Big! — Once you have narrowed your list down to the things you want to keep, do them well. Create meaningful events that make this time of year special.
